I often make my works in small series, where I stick to a certain thought and try to depict it from
different perspectives. Typical elements in my paintings are clouds, fire and snakes. I am
fascinated by the idea that you can look at the same thing in different ways, without losing the
experience of truth in the image. Here is the staircase you can't climb, because it only consists of
embers, and the glass you can't drink from, because you don't know if it's empty or full. Here is
also the purifying fire and the symbol of the world, ouroboros devouring its own tail - which I have
made different versions of.
Sv. Jag gör ofta mina verk i små serier, där jag försöker hålla fast vid en viss tanke och beskriva den
från olika håll. Typiska element i mina målningar är moln, eld och ormar. Jag fascineras av tanken
att man kan se samma sak på olika sätt, utan att tappa bort upplevelsen av sanning i bilden. Här
finns trappan man inte kan gå uppför, eftersom den bara består av glöd, och glaset man inte kan
dricka ur, eftersom man inte vet om det är tomt eller fullt. Här finns också den renande elden och
symbolen för världen, ouroboros som slukar sin egen stjärt, och som jag gjort flera versioner av.
