Liminal X II is a continuation of an older painting, where the 'X' is the one essential element remaining from the original composition. I often revisit earlier works to reinterpret them, and these 'X's come from a series of paintings I created for a jubilee exhibition marking the 10th anniversary of an annual show. By adding new layers in the spirit of the Tape Paintings series, and combining them with the title Liminal X II, the resulting artwork captures multiple moments in time simultaneously.
