Amir Taba

Amir was born and raised in Tehran. Art and design were integral to family life — his mother was a decorator and costume designer, and Amir grew up surrounded by vibrant fabrics, tools, and materials. This early exposure to the creative process left an indelible mark on him and ultimately inspired him to abandon his studies in mathematics to pursue art. He went on to study at the University of Art and Architecture in Tehran, one of the most prestigious art universities in the Middle East at the time.

His life journey has since taken him to Sweden, Morocco, and Germany, where he has worked across illustration, advertising, and corporate identity.

Although Amir values harmony, relativity, and vitality, contrasts have been a defining element of his life and work. As a child during times of war, he learned to live on the edge — where constant innovation was essential for survival. Later, during his university years, censorship challenged him to find unconventional ways to express concepts and ideas through art. Wherever he goes, Amir carries his sketchbook. His work is intricate, emotional, and often layered with dark or unsettling undertones. Through his art, he explores the essence of humanity — the experience of living, of being human, and of shaping one’s identity.
