Lillemor Boman Carlén paints abstractly using color as a carrier of place, light and time. The colors and the fields with their positions provide the space to experience distances, structure and spaciousness. The visual becomes something tactile to relate to, an immersion in time.

Her oil paintings draw the viewer in with their distinct horizontal and vertical planes in repeated fields. Looking out over a fictional landscape, we meet ourselves in our searchings–recognising ourselves, locating where we are at that particular point in time. What does it mean to be a seeing person, where in the landscape are we, where do we want to be?
