I made these diptychs in 2008 on beautiful pairings of Swedish furu plywood. Black areas have been charred with either a gas pen or a soldering iron, elements in red have been painted in acrylic, and gold areas are gold leaf. These are four meters broad and are freely invented linear drawings of flowing images involving natural materials and processes such as fire, water, cosmic apparitions, or severed tentacles. The drawings are meant to interact with the beautiful patterns in the wood, creating an engaging experience. The large work Trouble is 12.5 meters wide by 2.5 meters high and was created on-site over the course of two months in the shopping centre Kompassen in Örebro for an Örebro OpenArt exhibition (its current location is unknown).
