Linn Sjöstedt, in her recent exhibition Gentle Pressure, continues her investigation into body politics and media influence, transforming everyday routines and beauty rituals into objects that are both visually alluring and conceptually provocative. Sheetmask, an oversized silicone face mask, in particular, highlights the tension between playfulness, critical reflection, and the seductive pull of cosmetic culture.

With a conceptual twist and playful approach, Sjöstedt invites viewers to become part of the piece’s narrative. Her ability to mimic the luxurious colours and textures of real products tempts one to touch the sculpture, yet even without physical interaction, it remains relatable through its aesthetic appeal and everyday associations. These qualities make her work both memorable and irresistible.

Linn Sjöstedt (b. 1988, Vänersborg) holds a Master’s degree in Ceramics and Glass from Konstfack and works from her studio at G-studion in Gustavsberg.
