Morph (to change from one thing to another).

As the light started to increase after long gray winter I found myself totally fascinated by this small river near me. I had passed it many times before but now I could spent hours observing the surface. In some moments it was still, appearing like the most sharpest mirror for our world. But sometimes when there was even a tiny bit of wind the picture started living and our world reflecting in it had totally changed.

I especially loved observing the reflections from the trees. On the land they are growing so noble and calm but when you look their reflections on the water they are dancing this dance, and sometimes the dance looks like electricity.

During my scholarship at The Glass Factory Boda 2021 I played with this thought. I wanted to capture the feeling of tree trunks curling and dancing on the water. Showing us the other side of our reality and reminding how we could look everything from so many different aspects.

The installation pieces are unique individuals, each one an outcome of my experimenting process. It started with an idea and the idea lived and became something else. Just like the trees are looking like one way at first and suddenly transforming. And for me, precisely that is the most important part of this body of work. To begin with a concept and shape it with a specific goal in mind, while allowing it the freedom and time to grow and evolve—potentially becoming something entirely different in the future.
