I decided early on that this sculpture would be a giraffe. It was made in northern India as part of an art project with artists from all over the world. Everyone was working with sculpture. The wax used to make the bronze sculptures was rock-hard and couldn’t be worked with until it was left in the sun to soften. Once the wax was soft, we had to work quickly before it hardened again. That’s how this bumpy surface came to be. I like it as it is because the bumpy surface speaks to me about the fragility of life. To me, this little creature is strong and says, ‘he can do it!’

Den här skulpturen bestämde jag tidigt att det skulle bli en giraff. Den är gjord i norra Indien under ett konstprojekt ihop med konstnärer från hela världen . Alla skulle arbeta med skulptur .Vaxen som man använde för att göra bronsskulpturer var stenhård och gick ej att arbeta med innan den lades i solen för att mjukna. När vaxen var mjuk gällde det att arbeta fort innan den var hård igen. Då blev det denna knöliga yta. Jag tycker själv om den som den är för att den knöliga ytan säger mig många saker om livets skörhet. För mig är denna lilla varelse stark och` he can do it! ́
