“Pillow Face” is a series of mouth blown light sculptures. Through the form I explore perception by bringing the shape language of the soft foam into the world of glass. In my praxis I like to combine art with function. I believe that the functional pieces we surround us with should hold an aesthetic quality. Each sculpture begins as a hand-sewn model, which is then used to create a mold for the hot glass. Every sculpture is unique, capturing the delicate interplay between form, light, and material.
