As you view this work, I invite you to follow the panels starting at the bottom left, beginning with New Spring, and moving clockwise through the seasons, with Winter’s End concluding the journey. At the center of the piece is the panel titled Time, which connects and reflects the passage of all the seasons. Harvest of Days represents my process of gathering and reflecting on the experiences, efforts, and moments of each day. It evokes the image of reaping the rewards of hard work and the time spent. Time, as I depict it, is relentless—an unyielding force beyond our control. As it moves forward, the seasons shift, and we see crystals gradually form, symbolizing time’s inevitable march. Each season, each day, builds into a larger, meaningful whole, reminding us that the richness of life comes from the cumulative effects of daily experiences, effort, and love.
New Spring (I) The last of the snow begins to melt away, revealing unfinished tasks from the previous year. Spring tools need to be serviced, and we prepare the wood for the coming season, even though we haven’t yet used up all of last year’s stock. We aim to finish everything by Easter—but we never quite do. The day is crisp, and though there’s much work to be done, we are happy to be outside, working and looking forward.
