Anna Kjellsdotter, Anna Bergman Jurell, and Sara Lundström draw inspiration from the Drottningholm Theatre in an art installation featuring eleven fictional environments. The exhibition is a convergence of three crafts—tailoring, ceramics, and wallpaper—where they portray some of the characters we might encounter at Gustav III's theatre.
Drottningholm Palace Theatre was built in 1766 during the heyday of the Rococo period. The building conceals a playful interior and a rich treasure of imagery, which is now interpreted in new forms and patterns. The inspiration for the exhibition comes from the wallpaper in the actors' dressing rooms, the painted marbling in the salon, and the stage's decorative elements from the 18th-century repertoire.
