Eva-Teréz Gölin bor och verkar i Göteborg. Hennes praktik utgår från den digitala fotografiska bilden, och våra gemensamma föreställningar om det fotografiska mediet. Under cirka tio år har hon använt centrala begrepp inom fotografin – såsom tid, plats och indexikalitet – som ett slags motstånd i sitt utforskande av fotografins utkanter. Centralt i hennes praktik är också metoder för att omvandla och synliggöra den immateriella informationen i de digitala bildfilerna till en fysisk dimension där pixlar och digitala artefakter ges ett egenvärde, snarare än att enbart fungera som en bärare av bilden.
Eva-Teréz Gölin har studerat vid Kungl. Konsthögskolan i Stockholm, Novia University of Applied Sciences i Jakobstad, och har en MFA i fotografi från Akademin Valand i Göteborg, där hon numera också undervisar inom fotografi och publicering. Hon är representerad av Galleri Duerr i Stockholm, där hon tidigare har genomfört två separatutställningar: For the Want of More (2019) och In Absence of Shadow (2022). Under hösten 2025 återvänder hon till galleriet med sin tredje separatutställning.

Eva-Teréz Gölin lives and works in Gothenburg. Her practice is rooted in the digital photographic image and in our shared perceptions of the photographic medium. For about ten years, she has used central concepts within photography—such as time, place, and indexicality—as a kind of resistance in her exploration of photography's peripheries. Also central to her work are methods for transforming and revealing the immaterial information within digital image files into a physical dimension, where pixels and digital artifacts are given intrinsic value, rather than merely serving as carriers of the image.
During her IASPIS residency, Gölin will explore various modes of representation and their potential relationship to indexicality. By combining techniques from before the advent of photography with post-photographic, AI-generated imagery, she aims to investigate whether the boundaries between the photographic medium, AI-generated images, and painting intersect—or whether there exists a space in between that does not belong fully to any of these media. While at IASPIS, she will also continue work on two publications, both addressing the relationship between original and copy, and highlighting methods of reproduction and multiplication within photographic imagery.
Eva-Teréz Gölin studied at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm, Novia University of Applied Sciences in Jakobstad, and holds an MFA in Photography from Valand Academy in Gothenburg, where she now also teaches photography and publishing. She is represented by Galleri Duerr in Stockholm, where she has previously held two solo exhibitions: For the Want of More (2019) and In Absence of Shadow (2022). In autumn 2025, she will return to the gallery with her third solo exhibition.
