Vi är oerhört stolta och glada att kunna meddela att Valeria Montti Colque har tilldelats Skulpturpriset – K.A. Linds hederspris 2025. Priset, som uppgår till 400 000 kronor, är ett av Sveriges mest prestigefyllda konstnärspriser. Utdelningen äger rum den 25 november på Moderna Museet, där Valeria även kommer att framföra en performance.
Valeria är dessutom aktuell med sin första separatutställning på galleriet – en värld där fantasi, färg och berättelser flätas samman, curerad med omsorg av Yuvinka Medina.
JURYNS MOTIVERING
Juryn lyfter fram Valeria Montti Colques konstnärskap som gränsöverskridande och poetiskt kraftfullt. Hennes skulpturer uppstår i mötet mellan mytologi, migration och magi, där färg, kropp och symboler vävs samman till intensiva, taktila och suggestiva världar. Montti Colques verk beskrivs som både rituella och rebelliska, en konst som rör sig mellan dimensioner, identiteter och uttrycksformer — och därigenom öppnar nya rum för tillhörighet och helande.
Om Valeria Montti Colque
Valeria Montti Colque (f. 1978) är verksam i Stockholm och utbildad vid Kungl. Konsthögskolan (examen 2004). Hennes konst har de senaste åren uppmärksammats både nationellt och internationellt. 2024 representerade hon Chile vid den 60:e Venedigbiennalen, och 2025 visas hennes arbete i två stora separatutställningar: Cosmonación – Modersberget på Bonniers Konsthall i Stockholm och Cosmonación på Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes i Santiago de Chile. Montti Colque är även representerad i Moderna Museets samling.
Om Skulpturpriset – K.A. Linds hederspris
Skulpturpriset är ett av Sveriges äldsta och mest betydelsefulla konstnärspriser, instiftat 1950 av textilkonstnären Sigrid Lind till minne av sina föräldrar. Priset delas ut av Klubb Moderna, och tidigare mottagare inkluderar Elis Eriksson, Lars Englund, Johanna Gustafsson Fürst, Runo Lagomarsino, Berit Lindfeldt och Ulf Rollof.

We are thrilled to announce that Valeria Montti Colque has been awarded the Sculpture Prize – K.A. Lind Honorary Award 2025. Valued at 400,000 SEK, this is one of Sweden’s most prestigious art prizes. The award ceremony will take place on November 25 at Moderna Museet, where Valeria will also perform a live performance.
Valeria is currently presenting her first solo exhibition with the gallery, Jag bär berget, du bär mig, a vibrant world where imagination, colour, and storytelling intertwine, curated by Yuvinka Medina.
Jury Statement
The jury praises Montti Colque’s artistic practice as boundary-crossing and poetically powerful. Her sculptures emerge at the intersection of mythology, migration, and magic, weaving color, body, and symbols into immersive, tactile, and evocative worlds. Her work is described as both ritualistic and rebellious—an art that navigates dimensions, identities, and modes of expression, opening new spaces for belonging and healing.
About Valeria Montti Colque
Born in 1978, Valeria Montti Colque is based in Stockholm and trained at the Royal Institute of Art (graduated 2004). Her work has gained recognition nationally and internationally in recent years. In 2024, she represented Chile at the 60th Venice Biennale, and in 2025 her work will be featured in two major solo exhibitions: Cosmonación – Modersberget at Bonniers Konsthall in Stockholm and Cosmonación at Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Santiago de Chile. Montti Colque is also represented in the collection of Moderna Museet.
