These diptychs, created in 2008, are composed on striking pairings of Swedish furu plywood. The black areas have been charred using either a gas pen or a soldering iron, while red elements are rendered in acrylic paint, and gold sections are finished with gold leaf. Spanning four meters in width, the works feature freely invented linear drawings that evoke flowing imagery related to natural materials and processes—such as fire, water, cosmic apparitions, or severed tentacles. The drawings are intended to interact with the unique grain patterns of the wood, resulting in a visually engaging and tactile experience.
