Fanny Bylund (b. 1992) is an artist working primarily with abstract ceramic sculpture. She studied at the National Academy of the Arts in Oslo and maintains her studio in Gustavsberg. Bylund’s sculptures explore rhythm, balance, and contrast, navigating a space between minimalism and organic, flowing forms. She draws inspiration from shapes found in nature as well as in everyday urban life—from the fruit and vegetable section of a market to dry leaves on the ground. The sharp edges of a banana peel where the sides meet or the round, flattened shape of a dried bean, for example, inform the forms and structures of her work.
